a real before and after: casey’s apartment
hi friends!
casey was moving to chicago to start law school and wanted a grown up space. no futons, no cardboard box tables. since she was coming from texas, we started from scratch and helped her choose everything from the couch to the curtains. it was such a great situation because she started out as a virtual client, but then she came to us and we got to see everything through to the end. so satisfying.
we finally put the finishing touches on her bright sunny apartment, and we wanted to show you! first you’ll see our inspiration images, and then the finished space. click the first thumbnail to view the slideshow!
we love that casey splurged on the sofa and got a piece that will stay with her, plus it adds a sophistication to the ikea pieces in the room. and flor tiles made a HUGE difference by covering the gross tile in the kitchen. we’d never cut them to fit before but it was so simple. we kept everything really fun, energetic, feminine and pretty. just like casey! as you can see, we could have totally hung out forever and chatted over pie and chocolate milk, but somebody had some homework to do! stupid law school, who do they think they are anyway?
casey is such an awesome girl, and we’re so glad she has a great study space and a cozy home away from home. and if, god forbid, we ever need a lawyer, we know who to call!

Where do you find the floor tiles? Are they easy to install?
I just moved into a new apartment, its an old house. I love it, except the kitchen floor is aged, light blue linoleum….sadly the floor is no longer blue and a yellowish tinged and we need something to cover it… due to the layout an assort of rugs would look silly.

Wow, great job! It’s so sunny and colorful, but mission-accomplished on the grown up front. Definitely a happy place.

Great job! Totally love the colors; especially the turquoise and greens. Looks like it will be a fun place to live.

Beautiful! I love your mood boards. Do tell, where are the living room chairs from? Are they rockers?

The rockers are from ikea and they’re shockingly comfortable. They’d be cute painted or stained as well, and the cushions are square so they’d be easy to slipcover!
