wednesday wishes: big bucks
i spent far too much time on 1st Dibs last night…to the point where i started thinking 2 grand for a lamp was reasonable. have you ever been over there? i’ve never spent too much time poking around because i knew it was out of my league and would just be frustrating. but it’s kind of amazing. i mean… louis the XVI painted daybed? they have those. art deco chevron mirrored credenza? yep.
so for a second, let’s pretend i’ve won the powerball and look at my shopping list. (i didn’t include any prices. they’re just too shocking and didn’t want anyone to faint onto their keyboard. besides it ruins the fun.)

I haven't heard of this site, but I love to look, even if I can't afford
Love the light…

I think I have the opposite problem, I have a hard time buying something brand new…I love buying or hunting for treasures.

I love digging.
I would only go to 1stDibs for inspiration, not for acquisition.

Oh, 1stdibs is depressing. I spent a day there once and vowed to never go back lest I want a wish list that totals to the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
I love antique and vintage stuff! I'm going antique-ing this weekend and can't wait. I love that things can have a story before me (like my 1920s engagement ring), but it also makes me feel less guilty about wanting so much when it's not brand new.
