monday morning inspriration: more more house tour
It’s a traveling day today and your k+o ladies are spread all over the country, working hard to get home to the windy city.
While we’re braving crowded airports and sweaty subways, take a moment to look deeper into Jan’s Oak Park home (remember…we staged it for a home tour…) Tate from Strange Closets took some amazing pics the morning of the tour and recently posted them on his blog. Check it out!

Jan and Peter had great furniture pieces but it lacked it a little zing. Layering art and personal items (hello family photos, VW bug toys and magazine clippings) into each space transformed their home into a beautiful comfy unique space. Design ‘rules’ be damned!
So today I challenge you…find your own uniqueness. Do you collect tea tins or geodes or ceramic dragons? Put it on display! Have beat-up family photos moldering in a shoe box? Get’ em out! Is there a big piece plywood in your garage? Make some art! Paint that junk!
Express yourself in your home!

Just the right amount or personality to make me want to step inside…and to inspire me to want you here to make my house shine for a house tour!

I love the yellow bug under the lamp. I've recently had to edit my tchochkies… there were too many and you couldn't just focus on one and appreciate it. This is a great example of how to do that, thanks
